Village House, Figueres
A spacious family house sleeping 6/7, in a peaceful village between Roses and Figueres, with a lovely secluded garden and 10 minutes from beaches. Restaurants and shops within walking distance.
The house is located on a quiet road opposite vineyards, and is ideal for families with children. It is set in a lovely large garden, which runs right around the house. The lockable front gates mean you can leave the children to play outside quite safely. There is a lovely village pool 10 minutes walk away.
The built in barbeque and terrace outside the kitchen and living room are ideal for eating outdoors, and there is a large terrace upstairs with great views. The house is very well equipped as it is our home throughout the rest of the year. You will also find a folder filled with great advice and lots of recommendations to help you make the most of your holiday and avoid the crowds.
Vilajuiga is a lovely village with great local shops and good restaurants and bars. It is only 45 minutes from Girona airport; and there are lots of activities nearby, e.g. a very good aqua park, go-karting, children's funfairs, golf, scuba diving etc.
Bedroom 1: very spacious with double bed, ensuite bathroom (two sinks, bidet, large bath with shower, and toilet), and doors out to terrace.
Bedroom 2: spacious with twin beds, ensuite bathroom (sink, bidet, small bath with shower, and toilet), and doors out to terrace.
Bedroom 3: double bed, and separate bathroom (sink, large bath with shower, bidet, and toilet).
Bedroom 4: single bed, and shares the bathroom with bedroom 3.
The kitchen is separate and equipped with gas hob and electric oven, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, washing machine and plenty of utensils. There is a small breakfast table too.
The living room has two comfortable sofas, stereo, TV, video, DVD, and satellite TV with English channels. The dining table seats 8.
Outside the kitchen and living room, there is a large porch area, with a teak dining table seating 8, and benches and rattan chairs with cushions. There is also a table tennis table with bats and balls, and a hammock under shady trees.
The house is cleaned prior to your arrival. Additional cleaning by arrangement. Towels and linen are provided, but not beach towels.
We want all our guests to make the most of their stay in this beautiful part of Catalunya and have compiled a detailed folder full of ideas on places to visit, and places to avoid. The house is a very comfortable family home and not the usual sparsely furnished holiday house. If you have any queries about anything, however trivial, please do not hesitate to email.
There are two golf courses nearby. The one at Perelada is 18 holes and only 7km away. The second one, Torremirona golf club, is around 20 km away.
There are plenty of walking trails in the area, and some which start from Vilajuiga itself. In summer this may only be comfortable early in the morning or late in the evening.
There are plenty of beaches to choose from in the Bay of Roses. The nearest are in Roses, 10 minutes drive away. There is also a huge open wild beach about half an hour away, which is great for windsurfing. There are a couple of particularly pretty bays beyond Roses, about 20 minutes away, both with restaurants and bars on the beach.
Girona airport is 45 minutes very easy drive away, while Perpignan is similarly easy to get to (1 hour away). Both airports are served by Ryanair.

Vilajuiga itself has an excellent butcher, local shop, fishmonger, restaurants and bars, and two banks. The village pool is highly recommended, particularly during the middle of the day when it is usually empty. There is always a cool breeze and plenty of shade under the pine trees.
